Lisa is our Library Administrator, previously holding the title of Library Clerk/Social Media and Website Manager at the library. Lisa has a degree in Applied Photography, working as a professional photographer and graphic designer before joining the library staff. She designed our new logo, and is responsible for the complete redesign, and maintenance of our website. Her duties include management of staff, writing grants, overseeing financial records, ordering books (which she loves as a self-proclaimed reading addict), maintaining the library’s collection, as well as creating content for our website, and posts for our social media channels. If you enjoy our Facebook and Instagram posts, it’s Lisa’s doing.

FAVOURITE BOOK:
It changes all the time, but right now it has to be “The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot” by Marianne Cronin. You will fall in love with seventeen-year-old Lenni, and 83-year-old Margot, as they while away their days in the hospital painting one image for each of their combined 100-years. This book made me laugh-out-loud, it made me sob, it made me feel. While it’s a book about dying, at it’s heart, it is also an ode to living.
FAVOURITE GENRES: Mystery/Thriller, Historical Fiction, and Literary Fiction
PHYSICAL BOOK, eBOOK, or AUDIOBOOK?
Physical book, always. Though I will settle for an eBook if it’s the only option.

Kari Rutherford, Assistant Administrator

Kari is a new addition to the library in 2023 as the Assistant Administrator. Kari has a Masters in Voice, that has expanded her ability to read several languages, and continues to perform within Manitoba. At the library, she is responsible for everything ILL, which includes borrowing, lending, and cataloging titles from libraries around Manitoba, as well as keeping library records and statistics. An avid reader, she has always had a large collection at home, although now it is mostly scores of music and non-fiction.

FAVOURITE BOOK: The entire Cherub series by Robert Muchamore. A nostalgic favourite, as I read it when I was a teenager. I loved the action and the high stakes that came with each book. I cannot narrow it further though, you will just have to read the whole series and decide for yourself.
FAVOURITE GENRES:
Nonfiction, Epic Fantasy, and Horror
PHYSICAL BOOK, eBOOK, or AUDIOBOOK?
Physical copies! Book smell is part of the experience.
