You can take out 15 items at a time with your library card. There is a limit of five DVDs allowed within your 15 items.

HOW LONG CAN I KEEP MY BORROWED ITEMS?

DVDs: One week.

New Release Fiction: Two weeks (these books are marked with a “14 Day Loan” sticker on their spine).

All other books (Including fiction, new release nonfiction, and children’s books): Three weeks.

ILL Titles: At the lending library’s discretion.

HOW MUCH ARE LATE FEES?

The library no longer charges late fees. PLEASE NOTE: If a borrowed item is past 30 days overdue, we remove it from our catalogue, order a replacement copy, and charge your account the replacement cost. You will not be allowed to borrow any material until all replacement costs have been paid. There is no cap on the replacement cost charged to your account for unreturned library materials.

I CAN’T FIND MY LIBRARY ITEM(S). WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Don’t worry, losses happen. Follow these steps to report your lost items:

  • Call us as soon as possible at 1-833-960-3519, email us at ffpl@shaw.ca, or stop by the library to let us know which items are lost.

  • We will start by filing the item(s) as lost in our system.

  • Next we ask that you pay the replacement cost for the lost item(s). If you have a large amount owing in replacement costs, we can work out a payment plan for you, so you don’t have to pay it all at once.

DO I NEED MY LIBRARY CARD TO BORROW ITEMS?

Yes. You cannot borrow items from the library without your library card.

I’VE LOST MY LIBRARY CARD. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Give the library a call at 1-833-960-3519, or email us at ffpl@shaw.ca , to let us know you’ve lost your card. You will have to purchase a new replacement card (for a fee of $2.00) before you can borrow items again, and your old library card will no longer be valid.

I CAN’T FIND A BOOK I’M LOOKING FOR. CAN YOU HELP?

Absolutely! If you’ve searched our catalogue and can’t find what you are looking for, please give us a call at 1-833-960-3519, or email us at ffpl@shaw.ca , and we can start by taking a deeper dive into our system to try and locate the book for you.

If we don’t have it in our collection, the next step is an Inter-Library loan (ILL). We require the book’s title and author, and our ILL Clerk will request to borrow the book from other Manitoba libraries. There is a postage fee of $1.50 (per book) charged to your account once your ILL request is processed, and is payable upon pickup of your ILL title at the library.

Request your ILL title now by filling out our online form, calling our ILL Clerk directly at 1-833-960-3519 (extension 444), emailing us at ffpl@shaw.ca or stopping by the library.
